BAD SPORTS - KINGS OF THE WEEKEND

Bad sports is TV's Daniel Fried, Orville Bateman Neeley III and Gregory Rutherford. These boys hail from Denton, Tx and last night they had there Lp release for their second album "Kings Of The Weekend,"on Dirtnap Records at Beerland, Tx with Wax Museums. First of all the show was super fun!!! (look out for the next issue of RUBBERNECK , should be some good pics!)Second of all, the title says it all. There is not one sleeper on this record, I fuckin mean it too, no shit, I got like 5 favorites! I listen to Can't Just Be Friends and I'm like "Dang I love this freakin song, its my fave!" and then Teenage Girls starts up and I'm like, "holy smoke! this is my jam!" It just keeps going!!! This is bad kid tuff pop at its very best! This record makes me wanna shimmy and shake, make out , drink beers, take shots, know all the words and buy another t shirt. For my money, It's the best thing to come out this year and its only $10!!!! You can pick it up HERE. I bought 2 copies and now I'm In Love With Myself!!!!!!!

Penthouse Magazine Feb 82

This is the first thing I ever read on my own. I had found my dads porno stash that he had abandoned at our house buried deep in a closet probably in 1st or 2nd grade. At first I got in trouble at school for peddling smut with my buddy Paul. Mostly we'd just cut out pictures of boobs and carry them around. Anyway, A couple years later I remember an MTV commercial where Kurt Loder was in some kitchen with some other folks and was talking about the Sex Pistols and there was this older kid I used to skate (me poser) with who always wore a sex pistols shirt. All of this really peaked my interest so me and my buddy Jeff Miller went to Sound Wharehouse on Burnet Rd. We both purchased The Sex Pistols," The Swindle Continues" cassettes. I also purchased The Exploited, "Punks Not Dead." I dont ever remember even listening to the exploited tape. Though I did however write "The Exploited" down the side of some bleached out jeans in 5th grade (another poser move. Consequently, I was at Savers the other day and saw a pair of jncos with that album cover stitched into the leg ). And I constantly drew the Dead Kennedy's logo on everything even though I never liked em either......Anyway in 6th grade I found out about Suicidal Tendencies through my buddy Matt Simmons and one day while flipping through my dads old stash and having no idea what to do with my penis I saw this picture of some dude with a swazi on his shirt a busted nose, who looked vaguely familiar and sure enough it was the singer from my favorite band!!!!So I proceeded to read and this wasn't The Lion, The Witch and The Wordrobe. It was way more magical! Anyway, I haven't seen this article in over 20 years and I was pretty stoked to find it this evening.
